    i have a just recently brought a wcg200 (cable modem+Wireless). my wrt54g works fine. i just want to get rid of the motorala surftboard sb4100(work fine too)

    here is my dilema...
    i cannot run a network cable between the wcg200 and wrt54g

    the wcg200 will be my primary connection ( and the only ) to the internet. i will have 3 unix boxes that will connect to wrt54g in another room not wireless but cabled
    /--> Solaris Sparc1
    INTERNET <==> WCG200<--> WRT54G <==|--> Solaris Sparc2
    \___ Laptop1 \--> Solaris AMD64
    |___ Windows

    all help to what is possible and not possible... any information is welcome as to how to set the connection up between the 2 (wcg200 and wrt54g)

    thank you.

    you need to make one of the devices act like the router (the wcg200) and enable dhcp on this device, and you need to set the wrt54g to disable dhcp etc, essentially its acting as a switch
