I have a WRT54G v3.1 router running Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c wired to an internet connection via Cable Modem. And a WRT54GL v1.1 running Hyperwrt2.1b1 + Thibor15c not connected to any wired connection.
I want the GL router to work as a wireless repeater, bouncing the wireless signal of my G router. So far this is not as easy as I originally thought.

    Here's what I've tried:
    Basic Settings
    Internet Connection Type----DHCP--------Disabled
    Router IP-----------------
    DHCP Server----------------Enabled------Disabled
    LAN Gateway-----------------N/A-------
    LAN DNS----------------------N/A-------
    Basic Wireless Settings
    Wireless Mode--------Access Point +WDS----WDS
    Remote Bridges Wireless--MACof WRT_B--MAC of WRT_A

    What am I doing wrong?
    Does anyone have step-by-step instructions?

What are the "remote bridges"? They must also be running WDS[+AP] for your current setup. The way I understand it, is that all devices that communicate via WDS must be running WDS.

If the "remote bridges" are in WET or client mode, (I think) the GL should be WDS+AP, and the WETs will connect to the AP part of the GL.

So can a WRT54G v6 do this without third party firmware?
