I've got a WRV200 being used as a router, and VPN tunnel.

I've changed the ip address off the router to start with 10.192.1.*, in the hope that no other networks trying to connect with it will have the same range of IP addresses!!

I can connect to it from a remote site, and ping other computers on the network. But, I can't see other computers using windows networking, despite being able to ping.

Linksys technical support didn't seem helpful at all, all they said was to contact microsoft.

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Do I need another port open etc..???

    Thanks in advance!!

QuickVPN afaik does NOT support netbios. so you wont see them in My Network Places etc.

This has already had an Article written for a workaround. NetBios Issues with VPN

Is this an issue with QuickVPN or IPSec or Tunnelling of any type?

I'm just wondering if some other VPN client might support it or if this is a more general issue.

Netbios is dependant on the firmware or client being used. most Linksys IPSec Tunnels now support NetBios in the webgui.

not too sure which IPSec clients will handle netbios, I guess GreenBow should. if the remote side supports a DNS server then add this to your Clients DNS entries, this should help as well.
