Hi I am new to this site and need some help please. I have recently setup wireless internet connection. I have a WRT54G v7 AU router sharing the connection and a dlink airplus g630 wireless card in my laptop.

I am trying to use Utorrent, I have completed portfowarding, set up a static ip and tried everything I can find. Once I do the port forward and test if its open it always state its closed.

Can someone please provide some guidance? Utorrent is "down load limited" Im not sure if I should do the firmware change or what?

Any help/suggestions or even direction to where the info can be obtained will be much appreciated!!

Do you have a firewall on the laptop? If so that also needs to allow the incoming connections through.

uTorrent also works with upnp (I assume the wrt54G does as well?), useful if you want to try different incoming ports - your ISP may also block some!

Some people see upnp as a security risk - if little apps like uTorrent can use it to open up your firewalls - anything can - use with care.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I have forwarded port on windows firewall. The only thing that I can put it down to is my ISP blocking the port. ...Thanks again for your help

in that case, try changing the port in utorrent and change the forwarding accordingly.
