    Hi folks,

I've been trying all sorts of combinations but have not had any luck getting a WAP54G to work with my WRT54G and WPA. I'm running the 12/06/05 build of DD-WRT v23 and with no security on the WAP54G works fine using WDS. However, I can't get it to work at all with WPA enabled. I've tried different firmwares for the WAP54G - HyperWAP, Freya, MustDie - all with the same result.

Does anyone have this combination working successfully? Any help would be appreciated.

i dont have much experience with the wap but maybe you could try 2 WRT54G routers in wds with wpa. works for me...

On the Linksys firmware, the wireless repeater mode is only compatible with WEP, so other firmware may also exhibit the same limitation.

Hmmm....I didn't know about the WEP-only support in the Linksys firmware. The release notes for the other firmwares don't mention anything about adding WPA capability so they probably still have the same limitation.

Do you know if it might work with AP Client mode? I've tried it too but I couldn't even get it to work with no security enabled. Wireless Repeater mode didn't work either. The only mode I got to work with is Wireless Bridge but that doesn't work with WPA.

Oh well. I guess I may need to just go out and pick up a second WRT54G instead.
