    Hi guys

Great site. Just found it through google.

I was looking for a way to turn my LinkSys wrt54g into a bridge as I didn't want to run cables around the house (I already have a 50 footer running across the loungeroom and kitchen floor).

I just grabbed the alchemy image and are going to flash it and see what happens.

    Hi Toxic

I have a V2 if you can recommend one that'd be great. It has been sitting around since my modem blew up and I replaced with a D-Link DSL-604T. D-Link work alright but wont let me play with it. I should have waited the extra time and gotten the linksys.

Alchemy failed miserable and I had to use the auto installer a few times. I think I tried like 4 or 5 times with no success. I had upgraded to a V4.X firmware and I dont know if this is the problem or not. Will try an earlier version tomorrow and see.

I will look around in the morning and see if google will turn another firmware mod that will let me play a little. I have found some but am a bit shy on paying $20 a year for the pleasure but it does sound like a good one it's the one near the top of the google if you use WRT54G and Firmware in the search.

Try Thibor15c as this has a very simlar look to the Official release but has many more options.

    Hi Toxic

Thanks I did find it this morning and it successfully flashed. I am now using my WRT54G as a bridge.

I have to say a great big thank you to Thibor and the excellent firmware UPGRADE!. So many new featers.

I only encountered a few minor setup hitches i.e. not setting the gatewaay up on my client PC. I only realized after I went back to basics and pinged my gateway and vola, I recieved a response. DOH!

Anyway thanks heaps and I hope you all have an excellent newyear.
