Do any of the Linksys wireless routers Have the capabilites of hooking up an outside antenna? I was thinking of an WRT54GS v4.0. Is there software that would let you use only 1 of the antenna ports? I have a buffalo whr-hp-g54 to an outside panel antenna going 2 miles but would like a back-up router. I used to have a wrt54gx with the 3 antennas but would like to try something different.

yes, the same antenna you are using with the buffalo will work with the wrt with the proper adapter (I assume the buffalo is not rp-tnc like the wrt?). any of the aftermarket firmwares allow selecting a specific atenna as well (for up, down, or both).

Which would be the best performing router?

I am looking for the best receiver and output in your opinion? There are so many to choose from.It looks like the wrt54gs would be good but I don't know if it the best. Thanks for you time.
