I recently bought an E4200 to set up as a wireless bridge connected to my main router. My setup requires that I use the 5ghz band for the higher throughput from N, because the 2.4ghz band will be tied up with b/g devices. In my search for a solution, it seems that Tomato will be the firmware of choice for this router. The problem I'm running into is that the router isn't stable when connected on the 5ghz radio. It will connect and be up for some time, but then the router will just stop working until I power cycle it. Right now I am using the latest Shibby build, since this one allows me to actually connect the 5ghz. I did use a Toastman before it, but when I would select 5ghz for the wireless, it would give an error that says "Unknown" and then I would have to do a reset on the router. What I'm hoping for is a firmware that is stable for 5ghz as a wireless ethernet bridge, and doesn't hinder my upload and download speeds from the internet. If anyone has figured this out I would really appreciate some guidance, since I'm been through multiple DD-WRT and Tomato versions and have been scouring the internet looking for answers.
