How do you feel about Linksys tech support?

    The Linksys website says it has "award winning" tech support, but I'm very interested in what this forum has to say about their tech support. Any and all comments welcome!

    I was very mad by the time I got off the telephone with them on Thursday 09Feb05 I tried to call them 6 times between 0900 and 1200 hrs :thumbdown: :eek:
    I finally got to talk to a human on the other side of the world, I'm in Calif. and I think she or they were in India or Asia. :thumbdown:

    Some are good and some are just reading from prepared scripts. The level three support people are better. I have had an open issue with them for two years until they closed it and it has ever been resolved. But in general most try to help you. I usual use the livechat and not call them. They were usually forthcoming with beta versions, when available, so generally I would say good to middling.

    Personally, I hate the "Hell" out of them due to a large percent of them quoting the "dogma" (i.e., "Is the router turned on?" and "Is it plugged in?" to include "Are you running the most current firmware?"). Even worse, when you tell the tech who believes the network layer is the "fifth" layer of the OSI model that you want to speak to the next level technician, yet they're still trying to solve your problem, it makes you want to start an obscenity food fight!

    Can you tell how I feel?

    They have special support lines for certain companies, find one of these and you would like the services much better. :thumb:
