How exactly does dmz work on Linsys routers?

Manual is silent on this hence the posting.

I am considering buying a BFSR11 v2 1 port cable router which I have been offered at a very good price. I want to set up an Asterisk voip machine which really needs dmz as there are so many ports to forward.

My internal network is 192.168.0.x I assume I give the Asterisk box a fixed IP in this range, lets say

My ISP has dymanic ip allocation so I have opened an account with noip so I can always get to the router from the outside via a domain name (but not necessarily an IP as it is going to change.) The router has to get its WAN ip via DHCP from the ISP's modem so this is definitely not fixed. If I direct external sip phones on the WAN to my noip domain are they going to connect to the Asterisk box with no other set-up? Is this going to work at all?
