This model is on the supported router list, but I could not figure out where to actually get the firmware.

    Thank you!

I have some experience with dd-wrt, it is a very nice and customizable firm, i have it in some of my routers.
You can find the firm at dd-wrt here
I think i remember the usser: root and pass: admin, please google-check it before flashing, also once flashed let the router alone for at least 5 minutes to finish it work, after that, change the usser and pass.
This is a good firmware but remember that always you flash it at your own risk.
    Just my 2 cts.

    Edit: choose the .bin file.
Flash wired not wireless, turn wifi off, just in case.

I see the Netgear R6300 there. The R6300 v2 is not on the list (I have two routers, a v1 and a v2). I will take steps to load this on the v1 router I have.

I think Kong has a mod for the v2 over at myopenrouter

Yes I saw Kong's, but never tested it, Braislayer and Eko are very reliable ones, I use them w/o any trouble.

Kong is now directly part of the DD-WRT project so his firmware should be pretty decent, he does a lot of new device additions I think.
