I have a Netopia Gateway(DSL modem/router) provided by my DSL provider. I connect to my ISP using PPPoE. I have the Netopia Gateway in bridge mode connected to WAN2 on my RV082. I can intially connect to my ISP with the PPPoE information set up on my RV082, but then it disconnects after several minutes, and I cannot re-establish a connection unless I restart my Netopia. Currently I have my PPPoE keep alive interval at 30 seconds, my retry set at 10, and my redial at 3. I have tried multiple settings including the defaults, all with the same resaults.

I am new at this.... does anyone have any idea how I can keep the connection or have it automatically reconnect? My ISP recommends that I use a "keep alive" connection and suggest that i do not use a "connect on demand" connection.

Some background information .... I have a Xbox360 on the LAN side of my RV082 that connects poorly, if I leave the Netopia in gateway firewall mode, because of "strict" NAT. With the netopia gateway in bridge mode I can connect to xbox live with "open" NAT.

I've been under the impression some of the Netopia gateways cannot be flipped to pure bridged mode.
