    !newbie alert

I am running Tomato 1.27 USB mod by teddy_bear on Asus wl-520gu
I managed to install Optware and Transmission daemon.
I can control transmission through web interface and it works but my port is not visible on (also only 2 peers connect out of ~10 in the swarm)

Since this is running directly on router connected directly to cable modem I don't need port forward, but to OPEN port right?

I was looking at man iptables and came out with this:

    iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport 51413 -j ACCEPT
    iptables -A OUTPUT -p tcp --sport 51413 -j ACCEPT

Is that it, or more is needed? I mean is tcp enough for transmission or do I need udp as well?
Another thing, to close it would be the same just use -D ? And what about router reboot, will these new rules stay or they have to be added every time after reboot?

Another thing. If that port is open and transmission daemon is not running (or killed), is there any security risk involved in this. Risk to router or computers on LAN?

    thank you :)

I have the same problem with RT-N16. I have been using WL-500W F/W form oleg for sometime no problem running flawlessly. Though try tomato with my new RT-N16 since oleg still in alpha stage.

I spend a day try to open transmission port very frustrated. Ho well better go back to oleg.
