My WRT54G never fills in this part of the header information (as far as I can tell).

Is this a setting somewhere? Do only certain firmware allow configuration of it? Is this impossible? I'd imagine this should be configurable on any NAT/Proxy but I could very easily be wrong.

Anyone help or know where to look for more information?

The WRT54G is not a http proxy, so it doesn't change any http headers. Indeed it's using NAT, but that's something completely different and has nothing in common with a http proxy.
