Nope, there is not a version of HyperWRT for any of the SRX based routers at this time. I understand there was some interest at one time from one of the HyperWRT developers, but then the WRT300N came out and has stolen the limelight.

I personally have deployed the GX2 at my parents' new home and its has been wonderfully stable *perfect for administering from 9 hours away*. The GX on the other hand have not been so pretty (at least the v2 hardware) and would likely require a halfway stable firmware from Linksys first. The GX4 - now thats an interesting bugger since it is based on Airgo's TrueMIMO Gen 3 (the other SRX are on other generations and configuration of TrueMIMO) and Airgo is being pretty steadfast in their Draft N fight with this product so I'm interested to see where they take it.

In short - no, there isn't HyperWRT for any of the SRX routers, but you may be able to convince someone to whip something up if you provided them with some hardware. I know there a plenty of people itching to try building their own firmware and doing so on a different/new product would certainly get them some attention and further motivation to continue... Personally, I'd love to see something for them :D

If someone would be interesting in stating in on this venture - the GPL source code can be found here

If he got you the GX4 I would gladly chip some money in to make it worth your time. Mine keeps dropping to 5.5 Mbps and of course the lack of support for Xbox 360 is a royal disappointment.

I currently have the GX4 as well, instead of waiting I went ahead and got the linksys game adapter it works with the 360 but it still sucks that the 360s $100 adapter wont work with the GX4, btw has anyone tried using a wre54g adapter with the GX4, I heard its not compatible but I'm wondering if theres any 3rd party software for the wre54g that might make it compatible.

DeadBillY: Does the LinkSys game adapter support WPA yet? I can' see anything on the website stating it supports anything but WEP.
