Ok, You all may laugh but this may be a problem for someone else too. Hopefully my error will help someone else. I upgraded my Linksys BEFSR41 (wired) router to the new Linksys WRT54G (wireless) router.

I installed the hardware exactly the way I did the original one. But I was NOT getting any internet connectivity. In fact, I couldnt even get on the admin page. I tried, rebooted, replaced wires, etc... with no luck.

Until I realized... I was still using the original power supply that came with the older router. I figured "same company, same power supply". NOT! Once I removed the old power supply and installed the new power supply, not only did my internet connectivity come back, but the LED lights were brighter, and the "Cisco Systems" LED light (which was previously dark), light up like a Christmas Tree!

This very minor oversight was the cause of many nights cursing the Linksys name, emailing and calling their tech support over the past 6 days, and almost resulted in returning the product.

It works like a charm now. Live and learn.
