I know this might be offtopic - but here goes:

Everywhere I've looked on the internet, very skilled persons seems to discard the possibility, that an old TopCom wbr611 can connect as a wireless repeater.

Please - someone - tell me that isn't right...!

I can make it work as an accesspoint, but the general idea is to put it upstairs and have it receive/send wireless to my ap or router and cabled to a pc.

    Possible - anyone ... ?

You could be asking your AP to do something it is not capable of. Even a Linksys WAP54G requires a specific firmware version and above to act as a wireless repeater for a Linksys WRT54G.

Yes - that is proparbly the case.

Does anyone have a clue, if non-Topcom firmware is available for the wbr 611 ?
