Installed b009 and now I can't change firmware

Hi everyone. I decided to give b009 a try tonight (went from Alchemy 1.0) and it looks like a very good firmware but it doesn't have the kind of QoS settings that I'm looking for. I wanted to change the firmware back to Alchemy but everytime I tried the upgrade method it would go for a few seconds and then bring up the "upgrade are failed" (sic) page. The router is still fine, it's not bricked. I even tried putting b009 back in again but it too fails. The router was reset to factory defaults with the reset button and the webpage. Any ideas on how I can force a change of the existing firmware? Could this possibly be a bug in the code?

this afaik is due to a fail safe feature that stops anything over 3Mb being upgraded to it. (v4.2x WRT54G or v4.7x WRT54GS afaik)

you need to flash the firmware with something smaller than 3mb first of all.

You were right. Looks like anything over 3M wasn't being allowed on. I used the official Linksys firmware and it went without a hitch. I had to then go to Satori then Alchemy to get back to the same state I was in before. Thanks for the tip! BTW, any chance of this firmware getting QoS enhancements like Alchemy or DD-WRT has? I would love to prioritize traffic based on the applicatioins and not just ports or machines. That's the only thing missing for me to dive back into this firmware.

Thanks for your info, good to know that the firmware load was succesfull.

About your question: I am at the moment not planning enhancements on the qos, maybe in the future.
