I just installed WRT54G. I also installed the wireless network card. Both are communicating and the network is established and operating. I have the WRT54G set up (by default) as the DHCP server. When I go to the computer with the wireless network card and check the IP address of that computer, it is Is this correct? Shouldn't the router, being the DHCP server assign an IP to this compuer? Do I not understand something or do I have something setup incorrectly?

Does the PC have a software firewall installed, if it does it's likely that this is blocking the DHCP requests ;)

Try turning off all wireless security settings in the router if you haven't done so already then try. Maybe you don't have the settings correct.
