I'm using Motorola SB5100 Surfboard Cable Modem and Linksys BEFSR41 Cable/DSL Router. Until yesterday I could go on internet. But, Today I can't go on internet. So, I disconnected the router from the computer and cable modem. It works fine. I can't even go to 192.168.x.x(for router configuration)

"If you want to start over and set the router to factory default, put the reset button with a pen or something small enough to go through the hole for 3 seconds or until the Red Diag Light comes on, then restart the computer."
When I press the button the power LED flash. I was holding the reset button for a minute. I couldn't see red light from the router! Is this router wrecked?

And I could ping the router without timeout.

Unplug the router from the wall, wait 30seconds, plug back in and tell us
after 60seconds~ what lights are lit on the router.

The linksys page reads - "Hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds or more and the router will be restored to factory defaults. This also means that your configuration will be set to factory defaults also, so if your router is configured for your ISP you may loose your connection until you set the unit up again. The default password for the router is admin in lower case letters."

Which is nothing like 3 seconds so I wonder where that 'quote' came from
    with spelling errors in it?

After doing this make sure to restart your computer before you try and connect (or update the DNS servers/gateway - if you know how).

Sorry. I've already solved the problem by upgrading the firmware. Anyway thanks for your reply.
