Is Talisman VoIP a good choice for VoIP phone line echo problems?

    I have a WRT54G v 1.1. I have an ATA DLink (from Primus) behind my linksys router for 2 VoIP phone lines.
    People often complain that they can hear their voice in echo. I can hear them very well. No echo at all.

    I'm using HyperWRT Thibor 15, but QoS on this firmware is really straight.

    I'm gonna try to put the ATA in front of the router to test if echo is cancelled. I will know if the problem comes from the router or the ISP.
    In case it's the router, can Talisman VoIP help me?

    Does anybody have an idea?

    Talisman VoIP is not released so you'll have to look at an alternate firmware like dd-wrt for VoIP specific functionality.

    But DD-WRT has a Qos feature, but it's specified to VoIP, isn't it ? Talisman basic should be better?

    Can't comment on Sveaoft, stopped using it almost 2 yrs ago. I've used both DD-WRT and Tomato, and found the tomato QoS to be the most effect.

    However, your echo problems most likely have nothing to do with QoS... have you tried changing some of the gain settings in the ATA?.
