We have a Linksys WRT54G hooked up to our cable online. My PC is connected as well as our laptop. The PC works fine. The laptop has been trouble free since we hooked it up in September and today for some reason it is saying router not available. NOTHING HAS CHANGED!! No wires disconnected, no settings changed. I can't find help files and I'm at a loss for what to do here.

if the router is no longer functioning at all, i.e. no lights are working on it then you have a problem. If you've just lost access to the internet then try power cycling both the router and the cable modem. leave them both unplugged for about 10 secs then plug the modem back in followed by the router. This has worked for me in the past. good luck.

Is your PC connected via wired and your laptop via wireless? If so, the wireless side of your router may be bad. Is the "Wireless" light lit up? Have you checked your wireless security settings? Did you change your configuration password when you got it? Maybe someone has hacked into the unit and set things up a little differently. (unlikely theory, but possible).

Are they both wired? If so, the patch cable to your laptop may be bad, the laptop's NIC may be bad, or the port on the WRT54G may be bad. Try another port, then another cable, then try the same port and cable with your desktop if you can.

That's the start to isolating the issue.
