Keeping Connection Alive RV082 to RV082

Our VPN routers connect to each other fine except that they connection is frequently lost and has to be manually reset. Both routers are using Firmware Version 1.3.5

We have set up an RV082 at our office which has a fixed IP number.

We have also set up an RV082 at our home which uses dynamic IPs from Roadrunner.

The Router at Home makes the connection to the router at work using Dynamic IP + Email Addr. [User FQDN]Authentication

IP Sec is set up using IKE with Preshared key

I am wondering if maybe I need to change some of the advanced settings from what I currently have to keep the connection alive better. (also it appears that Roadrunner has changed the IP number at the home which is to be expected)

The Advanced settings I have are as follows on both routers:

    Aggressive Mode
Dead Peer Detection (DPD) Interval 10 seconds

We are trying to do a back up from work to a machine at home. It works most of the time but has failures where the network becomes unavailable. The problem is generally fixed by logging into the routers and then clicking the 'Disconnect' button in the VPN tunnel Summary screen.

The machine at home actually logs into the domain at work. Once it is logged in it can see all the work machines via the Microsoft Windows Network screen. However, when the connection is broken that no longer works.

Any ideas on a better way to configure the routers will be very appreciated!

    Thank you,

If your isp changes your ip theres not much you can do until you reset it, but on a side note, if its just the one machine why not have it connet pptp to the rv082 as work, you will still have your tunnel to do what you want and you can set up remote desktop so you can get to your machine whenever you have to too reset the pptp connection. Heck come to think of it until a fixed can be figured out you could do the same thing with remote desktop to fix your current tunnel woes. Though i here the pptp implementation on the RV series is very stable.
