Hey guys, can someone help with this problem. The situation is this a have a WRT54GL router connected with my desktop (wired) and my laptop (wireless), the desktop works fine (can open the internet) but the laptop cannot open any page in the web but the status says it is connected and the signal is very strong.

I tried placing the laptop side by side with the router but still cannot open any website or internet apps. By the way i'm using Tomato Firmware v1.10.1188.

Can someone help with this i'm willing to post my configuration for you to check it out.

    Start / Run / CMD

You should have a listing for a Wireless adapter. It will look somewhat like what I have pasted below. Please give your IP, Subnet, Gateway and DNS. If you do have a DNS listed, try pinging that address like this:

Note that is my DNS. Ping your DNS.

    Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC
    Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-16-17-D9-9E-05
    Dhcp Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : No
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . :
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . :
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :
    DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . :

If you don't have it set already, temporarily allow wireless access to the router. Attempt to connect to the router's web pages from your laptop. Does that work?

This will check whether the problem is in the wireless link or in the router forwarding wireless packets.

I did try everything you suggest. The laptop can access the router via wireless but it seem cannot connect to the internet.

Since i badly needed it, i reset the router setting and reconfigure it and this time the laptop can access the internet. Its weird because i did use the same setting as before. Thanks for the suggestions.

im having the same problem, not all wireless clients lose inet connectivity though. either restarting the computer or the router fixes it.

same issue here...... after my laptop "resumes" from hibernation, it says it's connected to network, but it cannot access the web(and I also cannot access router from the laptop at this point!), and I must restart the laptop to connect.
