Okay well i have 2 pretty simple question about my router... WRT54G V3

so first, do u guys know if theres any way to download something without having the green light flashing (the LED)...im sure theres a way to turn it off but i cant find it, i would really appreciate if u could find it for me or make a special code so that i can close one of the led lights.

and also, can we turn off the reset button in the back of the router

any help would be greatly appreciated man :thumb:

In other words, you want to be able to use the router's connection without anyone else realizing (led disabled) and without anyone else being able to easily undo these settings?

I doubt any of the existing firmware developers are going to help you create your virus/back door, so you're on your own.

    not exactly but wtv
my dad bugs me when i take the whole bandwidth downloading stuff and the light is flashing in his office lol so he disconnects me...I just want him not to link my download to his network problem so i wanted to kill that led. (thats more what i mean by Making virus Wouhh)

but if u know anything about the reset button tell me

You could set up some QoS settings that put downloads at a lower priority than other traffic. That way, your father is still getting the Internet response that he is paying for, and you can still download during idle periods.

Just out of curiosity, why do you want the reset button disabled? Is it so your dad can't disconnect you? Why don't you pay for your own Internet connection if you're so unhappy with your dad's restrictions on sponging off of his?

woah, relax with the guy. You make it sound like he's leeching YOUR internet, Its just a question.

gatorized i dont know of any way to just disable the light but Ron is right, you should do some kind of QOS and that would probably be the best bet. Are you leaving P2P's running?
