Is it possible to change the LED's in a WRT? Green is boring and blue would be most cool. I just tried it with an old router and it didn't work. I removed the DMZ LED and soldered in an identically sized ultra blue LED and it didn't light up. I tried it with polarity both ways, and confirmed that the LED worked before and after I installed it in the router. I believe I was using a 12 volt LED. Is the LED voltage on the WRT's 3.3 volts and is that not enough to drive the 12 volt LED? If anyone's done this, what type of LED's did you use and where'd you get them? Thanks.

You need a LED closer to 3 volts. I changed out a few of mine, interesting change. Got them at radio shack.

I have replaced the LEDs on my old WRT54GS v1 (which puts out over 3V) with blue colored LEDs, and it's bitchin! I have tried also with red, orange, yellow, purple and neon. They all worked. I couldn't find white, but I guess that will work fine too.
Blue also works on WRT54GS v3.0.
