I had a Linksys WRT54G V1.1 until nature in her wisdom decided to cook it with a lightening strike. The Linksys unit took the main brunt of the strike and stopped it getting to my PC's but at great cost to itself. The out come is that the Internet port and two of the network ports are completly cooked but the other two ports are fine and it appears to be working fine other than its port disability. I have been trying to think of a use for this router as it gave most of its lfe up to save my pcs (sad git or what). Luckly i have got a new Linksys router of EBAY for £15. Is there any way i could use it either in conjuntion with an antenna or somthing like that and also is it possible to admin the remain viamy laptop using Wifi.

Please Delete this as i have multiple posted it (blame beer) Sorry to cause any trouble.

    Thanks in advance

use it as an AP if the wireless still works, you can connect one of the two remaining LAN ports to your existing 10/100 LAN. this will work nicely, before you do this, go into setup (if that works!) and disable the DHCP server. you'll be relying on your main router for DHCP requests.
