    Hello all,

I'm experiencing a problem with link logger and my WRT54G with Hyperwrt 2.1b1.
It set it up like explained on the linklogger site.Link logger and WRT but I dont see anything in the Link logger window. I already did a reboot, disconnected the power etc... The ip adres in the startup script is correct and I see al incoming en outgoing traffic in the administration of my WRT54G. I'm running link logger on a Windows XP SP2 machine.
Anybody knows a solution for this or point me in the right direction?

    Thx in advance.

are you running a software firewall? try disabling it just to see if LL works

If Link Logger stops logging check to see if the IP address of the logging system has changed as sometime the DHCP will assign a new IP address to the system running Link Logger and hence will not receive the logging information.

If you get an error when starting Link Logger, please make sure that you don't have other logging software running when you start Link Logger, as only one application can process Syslog messages at a time.

If Link Logger doesn't work and your running ZoneAlarm or any similar product please ensure that it is allowing communication between Link Logger and your Linksys Router. Link Logger does attempt to ping your router on startup, and your Linksys Router sends its logging information to Link Logger via Syslog messages (UDP port 514). If the ping is blocked then Link Logger displays a message stating that it couldn't communicate with the Router. If the Syslog messages are blocked then Link Logger doesn't log anything as it doesn't receive any logging information.

Link Logger does have an uninstall program for easy removal. You can remove Link Logger using 'Remove Programs' in the Windows Control Panel.

to get the setup correct with a software Firewall go here.

btw it does work, i have it working on this router right now...

I dont have a software firewall. I even disabled the XP SP2 firewall.
I also checked the all the thing mentioned in the Link logger FAQ.
Do you have to redirect the UDP port 514 to the ip adress of my computer?
I already have port redirection to run Emule but I dont think is had something to do with the failure of Link logger.
Link logger doesn't show an error message.

Try unchecking "Filter Internet NAT Redirection" if it is checked on your firewall page. That has caused problems for some people.

The problem is Solved. Don't know how I did it but I left my laptop alone for 30 minutes and when I came back the loging started.

    Thx for the response anyway.

    Best regards
