I spent 4 hours now trying to connect a new XP machine through my Linksys wireless router, to an existing and well working workgroup. Workgroup is all Win2k pro machines. Is there something I am not understanding? I disabled the firewall, checked settings, nothing works to get this machine to "see" the others. But I can ping the others in a command prompt window, and the internet is accessible through the problem machine.
I spoke with another user, who has had the same problem and ended up replacing OSes on many machines. Gotta be a better way, this new machine has features I need to keep and I don't want to replace a bunch of other OSes on the working machines. Help!!!!

Your a little vague on your network setup.

Did you mean to write BEFW11S4 instead of BEW11S4 ?

How is the router connected to the network. DHCP, static, ....?

network neighborhood wont connect to them but maybe can you manually connect like: \\192.168.1.X (where x is the IP of the destination computer)

Do all the other computers communicate and see eachother without problem? is it isolated to that computer alone?
