Check the DD-WRT forums for more info on the porting of their firmware to this router. Some of the members have them and are working on it from what I read. Also I read someone from the TomatoUSB site was already running that firmware on it.

You can purchase Linksys Routers including the E4200, the E3000, the E2000, and the E1000 pre-flashed with DD-WRT . No need to flash them and worry about bricking. Pretty simple fast solution to having a fresh router with DD-WRT. Works excellently with VPN connections as well.

Forget DDwrt its a joke now.
Support for the 4200 came from the members and not the group behinds ddwrt.

There hasn't been a actually release from those guys since july and it still contains major bugs from two years ago plus new ones.

Stick with the tomato mods there being upgraded quickly and have much better support.

Got to give those guys credit there keeping the spirit of ddwrt alive.

As for the ddwrt from brain himself its beginning to look quite strongly its gone totally commercial since there hasn't been a build from that end since June and it was a joke (qos busted--dns busted--witless issues--dhcp portable device issues).
A shame but not unsurprising with the behavior coming out of that camp these days.
