After about two months my WMP54GS just up and dies. I contact Linksys
about a warranty replacement. They give me my return authorization etc
and tell me to ship it over to them at my cost. I'm also told that they won't ship it back to my APO address so I'll have to have it shipped to an address in the states. Sure they'll sell it here but if it's defective "screw you." So I get it sent to my parents house who then have to ship it over to me (more cost to me). Over a month later I finally get the card back. It's a refurbished replacement. Now it may be just me but if I buy something new and it's defective I expect a new replacement. I should have just bought a refurbished one to begin with and saved the money on a new one. It works though so I can live with it. What I really find unacceptable is that the replacement antenna that came with the card HAD BEEN CHEWED ON BY A DOG! So I email Linksys and this is their reply:

    "Dear Valued Linksys Customer,

Thank you for contacting Linksys Customer Support.

We appreciate your taking the time to give us valuable feedback. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this has caused you.

If you have further questions, please send us an E-mail at so that we may further assist you.

No offer replace the damaged antenna. Just a good ole "screw you"
form letter. This is the last Linksys product I'll ever own.

netgear act the same... and their products are worst. If you want a better customer support, i think that you had to bought more 'pro' device that cost much more but offers an enhanced support.

a low price or the support, that' s the deal.

Yeah, Linksys has certainly not the best customer service. But in most cases it's at least a little bit better, than the service from Netgear or D-Link.
The only company I know of, that is selling consumer networking products and that has an excellent customer service is Draytek. But I guess, that's one of the reasons, why their products are more expensive, than the stuff from Linksys, Netgear...
