I am in the midst of researching a product to replace my WCG200. I need the replacement to be able to VPN to a Sonicwall PRO 2040 Enhanced running SonicOS Enhanced at work. The WRV200 looks promising now that its firmware seems to be at least moderately reliable with .29. The price tag is pretty appealing too. I am not opposed to spending a little more though if it would better suit my needs. I am mostly curious to see what other (non-Linksys) devices people have created tunnels to utilizing their RV0xx, WRVxxx / VPN Solutions.

As long as the device is ipsec capable you should have no problem. I have gone wrv200 to cisco pix, cisco router and Netscreen firewall without much fuss. Of course each device has its own way of wanting to connect by default which can differ from its peer but nothing that cant be overcome.

I've gone wrv200 to SMCBR18VPN, Pix 501, and Netgear DG834G. VPN is VPN as long as the settings on both sides of the tunnel agree and synchronize with each other...

Thanks for the quick response. Whats your impression of the wrv200 now that its more stable? It seems some people are still having issues with FTP and/or IMs dropping until a reboot is done. My older Linksys may be lacking in cool features (i.e. tunneling) but at least it is rock solid!
