I have been communicating with Linksys Customer Service in Irvine over the issue of support for the headphone jack on the WIP330. I have not been able to get any headphone to work in my WIP 330 and after long conversations with “India†I was passed on to the Irvine office. I was told that Linksys would be introducing a headphone as an accessory for the WIP 330 and that it would be available for purchase in the near future.

I had not heard anything in the last few months so I sent a follow up and included a question about adding STUN support to the WIP330, here is the answer I received to that email.

“I have not heard of any news for the headset as of yet and as for the STUD, on the WIP330. this is no talks of supporting STUN on the WIP330.â€

    Short and not so sweet....

Seems to me that Linksys had been rushing immature products to the market lately. I have the WIP300 and STUN is included but, the firmware is very flaky and several behaviors are not normal. The headset jack is also non standard, I assume it's the same as yours.

I bought mine in october, we are in december, the last firmware is dated 20061031 and is still not ready for primetime. Imagine how messed-up it was 10 months earlier when the launched the product.

    Go figure...

I am with you, I think they rush a product to market make a few fixes to it then discontinue it and introduce a similar model that has more of the bugs worked out. We pay for the R&D....
There has to be something that can be done to stop this type of marketing. Advertisements tell us that the product will perform in a specific way and yet the delivered model doesn't meet those specs.

    WIP300 latest firmware

Maple_Guy -- were you able to load the latest (1.00.08) firmware onto your WIP300? I've put the bootloader from the zip alright, but the main firmware file wouldn't work -- the WIP300 gives me the "Software Upgrade Failed - No octet stream keyword..." error message after thinking for a while.

PS. Downloaded the ZIP from Linksys, it unzipped with no errors.

In case anyone runs into this problem -- I was able to upload the firmware just fine from within IE6/Windows running in Parallels Desktop, was unable to upload the firmware using neither of native Mac OS X browsers.

Good news. The latest firmware upgrade now includes STUn support - set it up from the PC web browser, not the phone's internal settings screen.

    1.03.10.SUA 25-SEP-07
    1. Wireless-N routers now supported
    2. 169.254.*.* IP address issue fixed
    3. WPA Key Connection issue fixed

It also now enables STUN, factory resetting, improves feature uploading and various other minor issues.
