    Dear All,

Does anyone know if there is a way of bypassing the requirement for a password to configure the DSL connection? My ISP has a username although there is no password (blank). The gateway will not accept just a blank password. Is there any custom firmware to get round this issue? The Gateway is the EU specification.

There is no third party firmware available for the WAG354G . But the sourcecode has been released
So with a little bit of Linux/crosscompiling experiance, you can remove the check for yourself and rebuild the firmware.

In which way is the WAG354G telling you, that it doesn't accept an empty password field? If you are getting a popup message from your browser, then they are using Javascript to check the password. In this case it's very easy to remove the check, as you just have to remove this Javascript part form the .asp page.

I've just had this problem, i have attached a fix to this post...

rename the file from index.html.tga to index.html (the forum system wont let me upload html files)

Firstly visit, select your location if you aren't in the USA, visit the support section and select downloads..

Find the latest firmware, there are 2 versions of the WAG354G mine was the v1, if the first fails try the second...

in the router goto Admininstration and click Firmware Upgrade upload the latest firmware, remember if it fails download the other firmware...

now use the page i attached and change the settings, the page assumes that the routers ip is: (default)
