Linksys wireless N WRT160N Problems

    I bought this router went through the setup .. Rotuer works perfectly but cannot connect to internet. computers connect to router with no problem

    I reset the router and modem several times - i connect cable directly to router and still cannot connect to internet.

    I can connect cable directly to PC without router and internet works percfectly. I am using Rogers Cable Internet Light.

    Can someone please help

    Is this a cable modem? Most will only hand out one IP address to the first MAC address that requests and IP address. Try unplugging the router, then power cycling your cable modem, wait for it to sync back up, then plug in the router.

    Some service providers only provide an IP address to a registered MAC address, so then you need to use MAC address cloning in the router.

    Ask your service provider if you are not sure.

    Chances are your cable modem is giving out the same ip range as your router. Try changing the ip range of the router to something other than the 192.168.0 or 1 that you are most likely getting from your cable modem. I personally use 172.18.1.x, let us know.
