Today I finally made some time to reïnstall windows p, since my installation was some sort of 'a mess'. So I reinstalled it and tried to reconfigure my LinkSys WMP54G card. But it was not there!

I found my Driver CD, inserted it and had a look at the manual. It says Windows XP should automaticly detect it. That´s not true, Windows doesn´t reconize it, I even installed drivers etc for my motherboard.

Does someone here know what to do to get my card back in Windows=

    Thanks in advance,

Check your Device Manager. Any unknown device (yellow triangle with an exclamation mark) present? One of which might be your adapter sans driver.

Ok, I'll boot the machine and let it know.

Thanks a lot for your help! Really appreciete it :).

Edit: I went to Device Manager, and there actually WAS a device with a yellow '?'. So I doubleclicked, entered the driver CD and Windows searched for drivers. Unfortunately, it didn't find them. It asks for a connection to the internet to download the drivers, but I don't have one because I'm trying to set it up.

    What am I doing wrong?

try to connect with Ethernet cable temporarily and download from the internet the latest drivers for your device.

Uninstall the yellow bang ('?') and only then install the new drivre according to the instructions you get with the driver (from the support site).

your device with the yellow exclamation, does it say network device or unknown?

also look under network adapters to see if the card is installed, if it is it might just be disabled, this would keep it from showing up in the system tray

    It says network device.

The card isn't installed, I can't find it under network adapters.
