I have a WRT54GS ver 6 and I want to use it as a wireless repeater. The serial number starts with CGN9 if that makes any difference. I have a wireless upstairs and I want to setup this one downstairs as a repeater to increase the signal in the house.

Can someone tell me which is the easiest firmware to install and the most reliable? I have seen reference to Thibor and DDRT but I am not familiar with the steps or the process. Where can I found the most recent version to install and try and how do I do it?

Last question is if the install goes bad can the original linksys software be reflashed onto the router? Thanks for any help or replies.

Your only option is dd-wrt. The install is risky, if it goes wrong JTAG may be the only recovery method, suggest you read up and then ask on their forums for more specific advice.
