I installed Tomato 1.25 on a WRT54G v3 for someone, and we subjected it to 20-25 megabit/sec downloading. Load average is around .5 to .7 I think. Is this a normal load average for such a download speed? I do know that when there is no network activity, the load average does go down to 0, which is a good sign.

It looks fine as 20-25mbps is close to the limit for the 200mhz wrt54g, if you do not use qos or avoid continuous wireless usage, then your fine. If you need more wan-lan speed, a newer 802.11n w/ a 500mhz+ cpu is moderately cheap now.
