Looking for basic firmware for old Linksys E3000

I upgraded from my old Linksys E3000 years ago and it’s been sitting in a closet ever since. I recently decided to give it to my parents since they are using an old 802.11g FIOS gateway so anything would be better.

Anyway I haven’t followed the Tomato scene for awhile and the E3000 has some old version of Toastman’s Tomato on it. I see there are a bunch of new versions of Tomato with lots of new features. I’m looking for a version with pretty much all the fancy features disabled by default. All I really care about is a stable Wi-Fi connection for my parent’s laptops and iPhones and their new TV.

Can anyone recommend a version of Tomato that’s basically “dumbed down” with most of the extra features disabled by default?

    Thanks.

According to the latest your device is supported:
    Linksys E3000 R2 480 1 Gbps 8/64MB K26

you have 8Mb of NVRAM so anything that you can fit in there would do:

Here an example where to find the latest stable Freshtomato:

I can see a specific images for the E3000 so I guess that's what what you need...

Does Freshtomato have a lot of superfluous features or is it fairly basic? Also is it stable?

Like I wrote, my parents have no need for VPN, QoS or pretty much anything else. They’ll just want something that gives them a stable fast Wifi connection with good range.

all freshtomato versions for e3000 have vpn and QoS - you can however leave it unconfigured.
there is also the option to built it yourself only with the features you need :)

Running Fresh Tomato on my E3000. Works great as a secondary router on my network. I'm using it to isolate guests from my main network.
