Lost Lan connection to router.. still have Wireless connection to it

I have a router on my network that is working. 30 pc's access it just fine.

In between my pc and that router, i have another router i've been testing tomato with. plugging my pc into the lan ports, and the main router into the wan port.

I'm honestly not sure what has happened, but I suddenly lost my connection to the test router. Now no matter which of the 5 ports on my wrt54g i plug into i get an ip address from the main router. It's like it's just acting as a regular switch now.

I thought all was lost, but I happened to have a laptop in shop and I noticed it saw a wireless connection called "linksys", super strong. it had to be my router. i joined it, and it grabbed a standard 192.168.1.x ip address. I browsed to it, and there's the tomato config screen!

But I still can't get tomato to see the WAN port to act as a WAN port. And it's own DHCP server won't give out ip addresses on the lan ports (or even the WAN), but it obviously does on the Wireless!

Is there some setting somewhere that I don't see that is separating out the hardwired ports from the wireless?

But on another note, I can hard code a 192.168.1.x into my pc and I can ping but i can't browse to it.

This is really strange. I hope someone can give me some advice.

    Thanks in advance!

ps - i apologize if this issue has already been tackled. i've searched the forum, but can't find anything on it. perhaps i'm not using the right phrases...
