hi guys, recently bought the wrt54gl wireless router and usb network adaptor both with so-called speedbooster a few days ago. despite my best efforts i cannot get anything other than a low/no signal despite having them a few metres apart in the same room without physical obstructions.
i use an acer travelmate 2423 laptop, win xp home sp2, broadcom 802. g built in network adaptor, or even the usb network adaptor (linskys). am connected to ntl cable broadband with ntl 250 cable modem. it all seems to work ok when wired. but when i switch to wireless via the router nothing works and the internet is lost. till i repair the lan connection again. any ideas as to where i am going wrong would be appreciated.

disable afterburner in the wireless config of the laptop and wrt. I have seen this problem before in laptops with built in broadcom minipci cards.

afterburner/speedbooster is hack of the standard, which IMHO does not work very well.
