How do i enable mac filtering in RV042? I want to create a network where i will permit some users to access my network, so they won't be able to get IP address from the router.
    thanks for any help.

There is a "Block MAC address not on the list" check box in the DHCP - Setup screen.

But, when i check that box, router still assigns ip addresses. that option doesn't allow specific ip addresses to go on the internet, but they are still in my network.

the thing is that i have two routers. the first one (RV042) and the second one (router 2) after rv042. i want RV042 to assign ip addresses for equipment1 and router 2 for another equipment2. i don't want RV042 to assign ip addresses for equipment2.

i want to block mac addresses of equipment2 in RV042, so i will be sure that equipment2 will never get ip addresses from RV042!

DHCP is enabled on both routers.

What do you mean by the second router placed after the RV042?

I do not understand your network construction.

router2 serves to assign ip addresses to special equipment that works only with that router. in that router i don't have any kind of filtering i just have DHCP.

I still do not know what is the architecture of your network.

If both DHCP servers are in the same subnet it is not possible to force the RV042 to not to respond to a DHCP query.

You will have to divide the network to two subnets, somehow. Each DHCP server should remain in a separate subnet. So, the DHCP queries could reach just the proper DHCP sever.

thanks for your help. but lets forget about the network for now. can i block certain computers to get ip address from RV042 using mac filtering?

    No, you can not.

You can only limit the amount of IP adresses obtained that way to just one, by reducing the dynamic IP range.

I do not know if the router reserves the IP adresees in the dynamic IP pool according to the static IP list. It could be a way to completely disable the dynamic IP function.
