I just bought an extra WRT54G off of E-Bay and when it came in today via UPS we were just sort of talking here at the shop and wondering if since the little router is really just a computer if there have ever been any problems with people writing bad stuff for it such as some sort of virus or malware? Could this happen? It's not that I've had any problems but could it become a problem in the future that some jerk would try to mess up a very good thing?

lol yea that made e giggle...

Sure a router is a small computer but your flashing firmware from a manufacturer of from these 3rd party developers and I suppose that if someone was evil enough they could include code to capture the packets (like internet activity and your transaction information) and resend them somewhere else and if I wanna play on your paranoia already I would say that the goverment has already done that and we all being spyed on.

Seriously I never heard of such a thing but then again what do I know. ;)
