Hi. I need help. I've had a wrt54g version 2.0 for about a year and a half. When I initially purchased it I plugged in all the cables, downloaded newest firmware and it worked. I was able to access the internet wirelessly on my laptop and be hard wired through my desktop. Everything was good.

I moved. I built a new desktop pc. I haven't used my wireless for several months until I decided to set it up today. I can't get it to work.

I've browsed these forums and tried a few things, but nothing has worked. I tried net set at the linksys website, and it tells me I don't have the minimum requirements for a home network. I've tried resetting the router to factory defaults. No workie. I've tried to go to the default security website. My browser says it can't find it. My MOBO is the Asus a8n-sli deluxe and it has 2 ethernet ports and I have the most recent drivers for them.

Please help me. I am so frustrated. Thank all who help.

    Oh, yeah. Happy Holidays.

    1. first look at the back of the linksys router u can see a small hole like reset button push it down for 30sec then release the button and turn off the power to linksys and plug it back to the router
2.then connect ur computer to any one of the ethernet port in the router nothing else should be connected to the router at this moment. the internet explorer and in the address bar type in and click go it will ask u for the user name and the password
4.leave the user name blank and in the password type 'admin' the password should be in the lower cases it will take u the linksys setup screen
5.don't do anychange in the setup screen just click save settings in the bottom when ur back to the same screen click on the tab MAC address clone tab u can find this tab just below applications and gaming
6.enable the mac clone and click clone my PC's mac and again click save settings u will back to the same page then unplug the power from the router again
7.turn the power on to ur cable modem wait untill all the lights turn solid in the modem then plug the cable modem in to the routers internet port and wait for 2 mins
8.again open the internet explorer and type and get in to the router interface page and click status and check if there is any wan i.p. is there if u find some numbers there then minimize this window and check weather ur able to access the internet through the hard wire connection.
9.once if it works fine then unplug the computer from the rotuer and scan for the available networks and try to connect to ur wireless network
10.pls post a reply if it works.

setting up security to ur network

1.again open the webinterface of the router on wireless the and below wireless u can see wireless security click on that
3.from the drop down menu select WEP and the default transmission key will be 1 by default leave it as it is the key 1 area type in ur 10 digit hexa digit password (ie
:-A->F and numbers 0->9)and save the settings and again search for the available network in the wireless computer and connect using ur wep key
5.u can also change the SSID name in the wireless tab so that u can identify which is ur network pls give it a try and post a reply bye
