    Tomato 1.07 on WRT54GL,
running as NAT router + AP,
    internet connection via PPPoE,
Connect Mode = "keep alive" (30 secs).

    Description of the problem:
When the WAN is disconnected manually using the respective button
on the "Overview" page, the "redial" process is killed. Alright: when
I disconnect the WAN explicitly, I obviously do not want the connection
to be re-established automatically after 30 seconds.
However, when I connect again using the "Connect" button, the "redial"
process is not restarted. Thus, the router will no longer reconnect
automatically in case of a temporary DSL interruption, for instance.

    Suggested fix:
To my opinion, the "redial" process should be restarted after a
manual "Connect", provided that "keep alive" had been selected.

i believe it was not supposed to redial on its own, at lest it stayed disconnected in my own experience.. hmmm.. worth looking into though

That is not what he is saying, he is saying redial doesn't get restarted when hitting connect! It should, in my opinion too, get restarted when you want to connect again.

Is the PPPoE redial thing still an issue? This post and a few others on PPPoE dropping and not reconnecting is the only thing holding me back from giving this great looking f/w a try. I do a lot of UVNC remote work and I'd like the PPPoE connection to be as stable as possible, esp. redialing in the event of a dropped connection, which my Thibor 15c handles OK (for some reason it does drop a fair bit, probbaly my ISP).

    the connection Droped automatically!

How can I verify that after a manual reconnect, my GL is dialing from 30 to 30 sec ? (PPPoE)

    Take a look at the output of the "ps" command;
if there is a process with the name "redial", it's ok.

    Cheers fellers,

Anyone with a WRT54GSv2.x have any feedback on redialing OK with PPPoE.
