I have done mods on a few routers, E2000 added external antennas for example. Now I am adding 2 external antennas to an E2500 v2 router. And I read via Google, that the soldered, to the main board antennas must be removed and the traces cut. This is not the wired connected case internal antennas, but the board solder antennas? Something about how failing to remove the soldered antennas when adding external antennas will detune the router wireless signaling? Frankly I don't get this. If this was the case then the internal wire connected antennas would be conflicting with the soldered antennas? Can someone explain this to me? I see 10s of videos and guides in Google of people adding external antennas removing just the case internal antennas, but no the board soldered antennas.
