    Hi all,

I was wondering if there is any way to monitor the signal strength, signal quality or actual connection speed (802.11b or 802.11g) from within the HTTP interface on the Linksys WAP54Gs or WRT54Gs etc.

ie: I have two WAP54G's set to bridge mode - I get a good connection (no dropped packets or pings), but the data transfer is really slow.. approx. 4 times slower than the 10Mb wired cable between the two sites. Since I cannot run netstumbler etc. on the APs (actually there's a thought - there's a Linux port of netstumbler, any chance of compiling it to run on a WAP54G or WRT54G - sveasoft? anyone?) is there any other way I can install a firmware/program on the WAP54Gs and monitor signal strength, quality and connection speed?

    Many thanks in advance,

sorry.. appears netstumbler isn't open source.
