    1. Did anybody try to install two WRE54G on the same local network?

Linksys tech said two things I don't like as:

    1. Even with new firmware it is not stable with WPA, so keep original with WEP

    2. They don't recommend having more than one WRE54G, because it makes a network sluggish and not stable.

    3. I think, WRE54G creates a bouncing signal because of interference between WRT54GS and WRE54G, so my receiving signal goes from very good to disconnect.

havign 2 WRE54Gs will make the bandwidth suffer even more.

afaik one will lower the bandwidth by half so then adding another would lower bandwidth again by half.

have you tried using hyperwrt firmware on the router and boost the signal this way?

I've replaced antennas on router with HI-GAIN and signal is better. So, I will watch for a week for a status.

Linksys confirmed (I got a case number!!) that they are still working to enable mac filtering for computers connected though range extender.

Well, I think wre54g is going to be a hacker's weapon of choice for some time.

P.S. They said I can use a WPA54G as range extender, if I need mac filtering. Is it right?
