Quick question? Finally decided to quit fighting the need to do WDS to reach the lower floor of my 100 yr. old Victorian house, so bought a WRT54G V4 today to move to WDS. SO... reading the forums before making the move. I want the features of V23, but know that it is still in Beta, so... suggestions? I've read enough to know that I need to start with 23-mini on the V4....

    Thanks in advance...

According to Brainslayer himself the final release of v23 is very close. It is/was scheduled for Christmas Evening (EST).

    Most stable ...

So... I guess the wise think to do would be to wait to open THAT present! Well in the meantime I can move my existing V3 around to a more suitable spot - just got a bracket to mount it to the wall.

I know we are all looking forward to that final release but the current beta2 is pretty damn good (V23 12/23/05)

Load it up - what do you have to loose??

Today I setup my Daughters xmas present, a new PC. This is my first router (wrt54gs v1.0). I have sympatico DSL PPPoE. Would u recomend this release, or wait for the final.
The more reading I do, the more troubles I find with PPPoE (even with hard-wired routers).

I run a dual boot myself, ubuntu linux / WinXP, with ubuntu as my primary use of O/S. I don't mind doing all the setup via XP, but is linux gonna work ?.

I'll be hardwired to the router, am I still gonna kick butt in Enemy Territory with my 35 ping :)

I've added to this thread because I'd like to find the most stable release of v23 thats best for PPPoE.

I've been reading a great deal here during the past 2 weeks, and I could tell Brainslayer was trying his best for a final for Xmas, by the amount of new releases this past week. Thanks for all your hard work this close to the holidays. It must not be easy with everything else going on at this time of year.
