When going from HyperWRT 1.4 to 2.0b4, is it necessary/recommended to do a factory reset both before and after the update, or will it work fine doing a without a reset?

Can the telnet daemon in 2.0b4 be turned off or disabled, and if so how is this done?

It should run fine without a reset, however if you experience problems using the web interface (when using qos or access restrictions), a reset might be needed.

Telnet Daemon is disabled by default (for security reasons).

    Thanks Avenger.

Is the move from 1.4 to 2.0x a permanent move, or can one downgrade to 1.4 later?

I was thinking it is a permanent move. Something about the Linksys core code supporting the 2.2 version of the WRT54G and this change in Linksys core code not allowing one to revert to an older firmware?

    Downgrade is still possible.

Hi Avenger ... may you tell me whether a ftp upload will be possible in the next release?
I like to download some asp pages/codes, edit them and upload them back on the router.
